Today, despite the school holidays and the obvious mayhem at home, I was able to have a few quiet hours in the studio. Yesterdays plans and models moving towards a more definite vision with the confidence that I can archive a form along those lines in stone. The lake is frozen over,snowdrops everywhere. I dropped off some stones and my tools at the garden today and look forward to start carving bright and early tomorrow morning. This garden is well worth a visit!!Read more

Not long now before I am off to Germany to take part in the biannual Symposium.I am frantic with preparing for this time and I will work in my current style of contradiction/enhancement of materials,hoping to create something with stone,this time a carving and include cloth in some way as well.

During the last months my work has turned towards other materials than stone.In conjunction with stone,cloth can express my interest in playing with the weight of stone by not just hanging it.Sculptures are created by hanging the stone and applying material,which then follows gravity.After completion of the work I turn the work by 180 degrees and a floating or growing up visual appears.Read more
